Virtual MoU signing ceremony between Amity University, Noida & Pine Biotech, Inc USA
On 27 Oct 2021, a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Amity University, Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), and Pine Biotech, USA for joint research & training in the areas of research in "Bioinformatics and Data Science". Both the organizations have identified that a stronger relationship between them is mutually beneficial and wish to establish a more formal relationship with each other.
This unique academic-industrial partnership will allow the collaboration to bring state-of-the-art technology and content developed by experts in bioinformatics to students, faculty, and researchers that want to learn about and perform high-quality bioinformatics experiments. As a result of this collaboration, both parties stand to benefit in their ability to provide high-quality bioinformatics education and continue to expand the wide range of sophisticated tools for new students entering the dynamic environment of bioinformatics. Developing jointly coordinated curricula to expand the training program and train a large number of students in the university.
A step forward
The collaboration between industry and academia is the key to catalyzing innovation and growth. Industry partnership is instrumental in advancing research and in the creation of a skilled workforce. In the era of growing research, cutting-edge technologies have provided life science researchers to study overwhelming data at the molecular level. The spike in genomics, gene expression, proteomics, metabolomics, and DNA sequence data is a consequence of the enormous generation of biological data, where life science and computers act as a balancing bridge in providing solutions to scientific questions.

This collaboration between Pine Biotech and Amity University, Uttarpradesh is an outcome of deep considerations and a mutual alignment of goals, vision, and focus. Pine Biotech is dedicated to democratizing data science in application to Biotechnology and research with the vision to see the next generation of big data research driven by the diverse effective and creative generation that will solve the challenges lying ahead to food security, human health, and wellbeing.
The aim of this collaboration is to be able to develop a pipeline for students to get training and apply their bioinformatics skills in research and industry projects as interns and research fellows with the company.

Amity University, Uttarpradesh recognizes the need to enable students to participate in such meaningful experiences early on, leading to a pursuit of collaborations with industry.
As a result, there is a natural fit between Amity University and Pine Biotech, focused on bioinformatics and machine learning for biomedical data. As a result, Pine Biotech will work closely with Amity University, Noida faculty, and administration to develop a pipeline for students to get training and apply their bioinformatics skills in research and industry projects as interns and research fellows with the company.
